Angel Luis Muñiz Rios

Angel Luis Muñiz, 68 years old, of Barceloneta, PR , passed away peacefully on August 8th, 2026 at Jeanes Hospital.

Angel was the beloved son of the late Francisco(Pancho) and Ana Muniz. He grew up in Fairmount, went on to Laura Wheeler Waring elementary school, Helen Fleisher High School, and a trade school for auto body. He was a boy scout and played little league baseball.

Angel will be remembered for his witty dad jokes , charisma , the love that he had for his own reflection in the mirror, teaching random martial art techniques, determination and his even-keeled temper, He loved his family! His passions were martial arts, his love for cars and most importantly his Love for the Lord!! He would speak to the youth at many churches to give his testimony. Angel won various awards, trophies for many forms of martial arts. He later opened his own school called Muñiz Shiroi-Shi Shi-Ryu and shared his form across the world with members from various countries.

Angel is survived by, Angel, Jalitza, Gilbert, Alex, Angel(Sha), Dominic(Anjelica), Sascha, Jacob(Dawn), 22 beautiful grandchildren,1 great grandson and 1 goddaughter. His siblings were Nestor, Sonia, Frankie and Mervin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews who he considered his own. He will be dearly missed by many relatives and friends . He was preceded in death by his oldest son Angel.
