Antonio Agner Rodriguez, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, partner, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026, at the age of 96. Born on January 17, 1930, in Cienfuegos, Cuba, Antonio lived a life defined by hard work, determination, and an unwavering devotion to his family. In 1970, he immigrated to the United States in search of opportunity and a better future. He firmly believed in the dignity of honest work and was determined to provide for himself and his family through his own efforts, never expecting to be supported by the state. His work ethic, resilience, and self-reliance became the foundation of the life he built and the legacy he leaves behind.
Antonio was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ada Rodriguez, with whom he shared many cherished years.
He is survived by his children, Ana McConnell, Antonio Rodriguez, and Narciso Rodriguez. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Alyssa Labiak, Alex Kelly, Matthew Miller, and Jeremiah Rodriguez, and his great-grandson, Landon Labiak, who brought him tremendous joy.
Antonio is also survived by his devoted life partner, Lucy Aponte, and his beloved ward, Mikayla, both of whom held a special place in his heart. A lifelong worker, Antonio continued working until the very end of his life, a testament to his remarkable determination and strength. He was a skilled heavy equipment operator whose workhelped shape the communities around him. Beyond his profession, he had a lifelong passion for automobiles and was a devoted car mechanic. Whether fixing an engine or lending a helping hand, Antonio took pride in solving problems and sharing his knowledge with others.
Antonio will be remembered for his resilience, quiet strength, and the example he set through a lifetime of perseverance and dedication. His greatest legacy was instilling the values of hard work, self-reliance, and independence in the generations that followed.
Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. A private Celebration of Life will be held for the family to honor and remember Antonio's extraordinary life.
