Edwin Toro

Edwin Toro, a beloved member of his family and surrounding community, passed away on December 9, 2023, at his home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Born on January 26, 1950, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Edwin lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

Edwin was known for his kind and gentle spirit. He had a warm smile that could light up any room and a compassionate heart that touched the lives of those around him. Throughout his life, he demonstrated unwavering dedication to his family and friends, providing unwavering support during both times of joy and times of struggle.

Those who were fortunate enough to know Edwin can attest to his selflessness and generosity. He had an innate ability to make others feel seen, heard, and valued. Whether it was a comforting shoulder to lean on or a kind word of encouragement, Edwin had an unyielding commitment to helping others in their times of need.

In his final moments, Edwin was surrounded by the love of his family. Their presence provided comfort and solace as he peacefully transitioned to eternal rest. Though his physical presence may be gone, his memories will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Edwin's life at the Compagnola Funeral Home- 5th St. located at 4405-07 North 5th St., Philadelphia, PA 19140 on December 18, 2023. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM and continue until 1:00 PM.

Following the visitation, Edwin will be laid to rest at Greenmount Cemetery located at 4301 N Front St, Philadelphia, PA 19140. The burial service will commence at 1:15 PM on the same day.

Edwin Toro leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and compassion that will forever be cherished by all who knew him. Although he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. May his soul find eternal peace and may his memory be a blessing to us all.
