In Loving Memory of Gabriel Irizarry
With profound sadness and immeasurable love, we announce the passing of Gabriel Irizarry, who entered eternal rest on June 20, 2026, at the age of 82.
Born on March 8, 1944, in San Germán, Puerto Rico, along side his older brother, Luis Irizarry, Gabriel’s life was a testament to faith, perseverance, and love. Through hard work, determination, and an unwavering belief in the importance of family, he built a life from humble beginnings that became a legacy for generations to come. A businessman, baker, and provider, Gabriel spent his life working tirelessly—not for recognition or wealth, but to create opportunities and a better future for those he loved. What he built was more than a business; it was an empire founded on integrity, sacrifice, and love.
Gabriel was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Rosa, with whom he shared a lifetime of love. Together they built a beautiful family that became the center of his world and the source of his greatest pride and joy.
He was the loving father of Rosemary, David, Ricky, and JoAnne; a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren; and a cherished great-grandfather to five great-grandchildren. To his family, he was so much more than the titles he carried—he was our foundation, our protector, our teacher, and our safe place. No matter what life brought our way, we knew Papa would be there.
Anyone seeking his guidance was likely to hear the words, “Listen to Papa,” before receiving advice that would stay with them for a lifetime. His wisdom came not from books, but from a life filled with hard work, experience, and love. He had a way of making people feel understood and never alone.
Gabriel was deeply devoted to his faith and his church community. He lived what he believed, serving others with kindness, generosity, and humility. He gave freely of himself, never expecting anything in return. His heart was open to all, and his love knew no boundaries.
Known for his quick wit and playful spirit, Gabriel could light up any room with laughter. He was a jokester at heart, and the joy he brought to family gatherings and everyday moments created memories that will be treasured forever. He had a gift for making people feel welcomed and at home. His smile was comforting and his presence unforgettable.
Gabriel was a fighter until the very end. No matter what challenges life placed before him, he met them with an unwavering positive spirit. He never allowed hardship to define him. Instead, he kept moving forward, trusting God and finding reasons to be grateful. His strength inspired everyone around him and taught his family what it means to persevere with grace.
For those fortunate enough to know him, Gabriel was a man to admire and look up to—not because of what he built, but because of the way he loved. He worked hard his entire life and created opportunities for generations to come, but his greatest gift was the love he gave so freely. He was rich in all the ways that matter most, and everyone who knew him felt it.
To many, Gabriel was admired and respected. To his family, he was our foundation. To his grandchildren, he was a source of wisdom, laughter, and unconditional love. And to those who loved him most, he was the center of our universe—the sun around which our lives revolved. The world feels a little less bright without him in it.
His absence leaves an immeasurable void, but his legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the family he cherished, and the love that continues to surround all who knew him. Though our hearts are broken, we are forever grateful that God chose Gabriel to be our husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. We find comfort in knowing that his lessons, his laughter, and his love will remain with us forever.
Gabriel Irizarry was deeply loved, profoundly respected, and will be missed beyond words. His life was a blessing, his memory a treasure, and his love a gift that will endure for generations.
May he rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord, reunited with loved ones gone before him, and forever remembered by those whose lives are better because he was part of them.
