Jorge Gonzalez

Jorge Gonzalez, a dedicated member of the municipal police force in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico, peacefully passed away on Thursday December 28, 2023 at his residence the age of 80. 

Born on March 7, 1943, in his beloved hometown of Vega Alta, Puerto Rico.

Throughout his illustrious career as a Policía Municipal de Vega Alta officer, Jorge served his community with unwavering commitment and integrity. He selflessly put the safety and welfare of others above all else, earning the respect and admiration of both his colleagues and the community he served. Jorge's tireless dedication to duty personified what it means to be a true public servant.

Jorge was known for his lively and humorous personality. He had an incredible wit and a knack for lightening any situation with his quick jokes and infectious laughter. His ability to make others around him smile brought joy to all who had the privilege of being in his company. Jorge's sense of humor will truly be missed by everyone who knew him.

Beyond his service as a police officer, Jorge cherished every moment spent with his family. He found immense happiness in their presence and created countless cherished memories with those he loved most. In addition to cherishing time with family, Jorge also enjoyed testing his luck at the casino. Whether it was playing cards or rolling the dice, he approached each game with a twinkle in his eye and an adventurous spirit.

Jorge will always be remembered for his kind heartedness and genuine care for others. His positive impact on people's lives extended far beyond the borders of Vega Alta or Philadelphia; it reached every corner he traversed during his journey through life.

To honor Jorge Gonzalez's life and offer support during this time of loss, visitation services will be held at Compagnola Funeral Home- 5th St. in Philadelphia, PA, on January 4, 2024. The visitation will begin at 5:00 PM and continue until 8:00 PM. This will be an opportunity for family, friends, and community members to come together, share stories, and pay their respects to a man who touched so many lives.
