Jose Arriaga

Jose Arriaga, born on September 8, 1941, in Caguas, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on February 1, 2026. He lived a life characterized by devotion, strength, and unwavering commitment to his family and community.Jose’s journey through life was marked by his rich heritage and deep roots in his birthplace. Through the years, he embraced the values of love, perseverance, and service, traits that he instilled in those around him. His presence was a source of strength for his family and friends, and he was admired for his kind spirit and profound wisdom.In honor of Jose’s life and to celebrate his memory, services will be held at Visitation BVM Roman Catholic Parish in Philadelphia. A viewing will take place on February 7, 2026, from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass at the same location beginning at 10:30 AM. Following the Mass, Jose will be laid to rest at Greenmount Cemetery, with the burial service starting at 12:00 PM.Jose leaves behind the legacy of service and love, which will be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered fondly for his generous heart, gentle nature, and the countless lives he touched during his time with us. His spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him as they carry forward his values in their lives.

José Arriaga, nacido el 8 de septiembre de 1941 en Caguas, Puerto Rico, falleció pacíficamente en Filadelfia, Pensilvania, el 1 de febrero de 2026. Vivió una vida caracterizada por la devoción, la fortaleza y un compromiso inquebrantable con su familia y comunidad. Su trayectoria vital estuvo marcada por su rica herencia y profundas raíces en su tierra natal. A lo largo de los años, abrazó los valores del amor, la perseverancia y el servicio, cualidades que inculcó en quienes lo rodeaban. Su presencia fue una fuente de fortaleza para su familia y amigos, y fue admirado por su espíritu bondadoso y profunda sabiduría. En honor a la vida de José y para celebrar su memoria, se celebrarán servicios en la Parroquia Católica Romana Visitation BVM en Filadelfia. El velatorio se llevará a cabo el 7 de febrero de 2026, de 9:00 a. m. a 10:30 a. m., seguido de una misa en el mismo lugar a partir de las 10:30 a. m. Tras la misa, José será enterrado en el Cementerio Greenmount. El servicio fúnebre comenzará a las 12:00 p. m. José deja un legado de servicio y amor, que atesorarán quienes tuvieron el privilegio de conocerlo. Lo recordaremos con cariño por su generosidad, su carácter amable y las innumerables vidas que conmovió durante su tiempo con nosotros. Su espíritu seguirá inspirando a quienes lo conocieron, quienes seguirán llevando sus valores a la práctica.
