Josefina Torres

Josefina Torres, age 65, lovingly known as “Fina” of the Feltonville section of Philadelphia, was called home to be with heavenly father on Sunday June 15, 2025. 

Josefina was born on March 11, 1960 in Rio Pedrias, Puerto Rico and was the last born daughter of Virginia Cubero and Ambrosio Torres.

Josefina was a devoted spouse to Rogelio Medina with whom they shared over 20 wonderful years together and 1 year of marriage. Together, they built a life rooted in love and commitment.

Josefina was a proud and loving parent to, Mariana Colon, Javier Antonetty, Jose Colon, Maria Torres, Orlando Rivera, and Osvaldo Vasquez.

And was a cherished grandparent to, Yailisia Alejo, Alfonso Antonetty, Christoper Colon, Jose Colon Jr., Aliza Smith, Myla Colon, Nieomiah Colon, Jonathan Morales Jr., Destinee Torres, Noah Rivera, Orlando Rivera Jr., Aeysha Vasquez, Osvaldo Vasquez Jr., Jose Vasquez, Ebony Vasquez, Serenity Vasquez and Isabel Vasquez. Destiny Vasquez and Michelle Vasquez who preceded them in death.

She was very hard working and dedicated mother who loved, cared, and sheltered many family and friends along the way. She was known to give the clothes off her back. Fina also loved to volunteer in the community. Her hobbies included learning the computer, crochetting, painting, and spending time with family.

Josefina loved to dance and was known to be a free spirit. She was dedicated to reading her Bible and praising God.

Josefina also had her siblings whom she was close to named Iris Berta Arroyo, Amalio Torres, Evelyn Torres, Sammuel Torres, Abigail Torres, Pilar Vasquez, and Mouses Torres.

And we remember the extended family who meant so much to them — great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who were like family.

As we say goodbye, we carry with us the lessons Josefina shared to maintain faith no matter their situation, even through the toughest days. Though their physical presence is gone, her spirit remains deeply woven into the fabric of our family.

Date: Friday June 27, 2025 

Time: 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM 

Liturgical Service beginning at 11:00 AM. 

Interment 

Greenmount Cemetery 4301 N. Front St., Philadelphia, PA, 19140. 

Date: Friday June 27, 2025. 

Time: 12:30 PM - 12:45 PM. 

We are heartbroken, but we are also grateful — for the time we had, the love we shared, and the legacy that lives on through each of us.

Rest peacefully, Fina. We will love and miss you always.
