Margarita Zayas

Margarita, age 70, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on Monday February 20, 2023.

She was born on August 17, 1952 in Barranquitas, Puerto Rico to Flor Zayas and Juanita Marrero.

Margarita is preceded in death by her parents Flor Zayas, Juanita Marrero and her son Alex Rosario.

She leaves memories to be cherished by her husband Manuel (Manny) Rivera. Her children Carlos Serrano and Robert Serrano. 9 grandchildren Robert, Xavier, Sophia, Anthony, Elena, Carlos, Alex, Ayden and Bri. Siblings Maria, Neyda, Junior, Minerva (Mimi) and Emily.

Margarita was a Breast Cancer Survivor for over 10 years. She would always say that "Todo es Amor".

One of her passions were for music. Margarita was also the music producer for "Los Brothers Band" which was found in 1993 and was very popular until 2005.

She would always spend her weekends at Izla's Latin Cuisine and Mis Viejos Restaurant & Lounge with her husband Manny. One of her favorite foods were pastelillos de pollo y alcapurrias de pollo.

Family and friends are called to visitation hours on Thursday March 2, 2023 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm at La Primera Iglesia Cristiana Misionera located at 4236 Whitaker Ave Philadelphia, PA 19120. A service in her memory will begin at 7:00pm.

Interment will be held privately.
