Robert Charles Fairo, known to family and friends as Bob, passed away on February 14, 2026, at St. Luke’s Carbon Campus in Lehighton, Pennsylvania at the age of 82. He was born December 1, 1943, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Fairo. Bob was the youngest of five siblings, with Joseph, George, Theresa and Vivian( Bitsy) all preceding him in death. A Vietnam War Navy veteran, Bob carried the quiet strength and sense of duty that defined much of his life.

He leaves behind four devoted daughters—Gina Parker (Joe), Barb Viola, Jackie Fairo, and Michelle (Shelly) Black (Ken) along with his only son, Joe Fairo. In addition to his immediate family, Bob leaves 16 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. His career spanned several prominent telecommunications firms, including Bell Telephone, AT&T, and Qwest from which he retired in 2000.

Bob’s passions included family trips to Reno with his kids, a lifelong love of the Philadelphia Eagles and the Philadelphia Phillies, and an enduring affection for San Diego and Seattle. The melodies of the 50’s and 60’s filled his days with joy, especially Frank Sinatra’s timeless voice that he treasured. He approached life with straightforward honesty and a warm heart, qualities that endeared him to family and friends alike.

He will be deeply missed by his children, his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren, as well as all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration of Life service will be held with family and close friends on March 15, 2026. Details to follow. In lieu of flowers, consideration may be given to a veterans’ charity, or Bob’s favorite charity, St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Rest in peace, Bob; your stories, your steadfastness, and your love for family will endure.
