Ronnald McCray

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing Ronnald E. "Row," McCray. Affectionately known as Row, he passed on September 11th 2025. Row, born in Agusta, Georgia on June 14th, 1948, to the late Christine Thomas and Henry McCray. They moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, when he was a young boy. He enlisted in the United States Army as a young teen and was sent to Vietnam where he did two tours and retired from the Military as an E7 Sergeant.

Row was married to the late Asuncion I. "Maggie," Velasquez. Who are now both survived by their five children. He is also survived by his youngest brother and his family, a sister, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Row, was a HUGE Eagles and Phillies fan and loved watching anything science fiction, space, history, or nature. A beloved father and friend that will be truly missed.

Family and friends are called to visitation hours Friday September 19, 2025 at the Compagnola Funeral Home 4405 N. 5th St., Philadelphia, PA, 19140. Visitation hours are set to begin at 9:00 AM with a liturgical service beginning at 11:00 AM. 

Interment is to follow immediately after at Greenmount Cemetery 4301 N. Front St., Philadelphia, PA, 19140, Friday September 19, 2025.
